The Storms Are Raging On The Rolling Sea...

And on the highway of regret
Though winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothing like me yet
I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love
To make you feel my love

Working On Some Icons...

Eye Shadow and Colour Theory

Today I felt about as grey as the sky outside so I decided to try my new eye shadow "Metal Plum" from L'Oreal. I really like it, it accentuates the eyes without being too dark, perfect for daytime!

Did you know that you can intensify the colour of your eyes with eye shadow?
Basically, all colours have got a complimentary colour, that is the colour right opposite of them in the "colour wheel chart" which means the colour furthest away in likeness. For example blue's complimentary colour is orange, purple - yellow, green - red etc. That means that if you put yellow next to purple, the purple will look clear and strong, as opposed to if you put blue next to it. Now, if I want to accentuate my blue eyes I'm not going to wear orange eyeshadow since it's not really my style, but I can wear something similar, like gold, pink or warm purple. Green eyes will look like emeralds with warm browns or dark pink, while brown eyes will look extra chocolaty together with blues or lilac.

Charleston and Murder

My new favourite tv-show is "Broadwalk Empire." James and I have been watching 2-3 episodes every night this week. The actors are excellent, the story line is cool, and after the overload of 50's fashion à la "Mad Men" I predict 20's flapper style will be the next big thing!

Little London Fields Market

Last year I visited a lovely market within the Little London Fields Festival. Today I was asked by the organizers to photograph their new Designers/Makers market that opens up in April, should be lots of fun! I love going to markets, especially if they have nice food stalls as well as cute stuff!

Out Driving Around in London...

And there's Buckingham Palace! The Queen is in (they alway flag the Union Jack when she is) so we're gonna pop by for a cup of tea...

Busy and Exciting Day!

Today was a very fun and interesting day! First I had a meeting with the lovely girls of Swedish website LondonSvenskar - a great website for Swedes thinking about moving to, living in, or wanting to visit London! I am very excited to tell you I'm going to be one of the site's professional bloggers! I will of course continue with 'A Piece of Lisa' but I will also write fun and hopefully inspiring posts for LondonSvenskar with lots of tips and advice for Swedes! I am really excited about it because I remember visiting the website when I first moved to London, and now it is being relaunched in February with lots of new content. I am also looking forward to writing in Swedish, it's gonna be so much fun!
Then I got some graphic design work for the rest of the day plus tomorrow and that's always good! :)

Hurry Up Spring!

I know it's only January, but now that Christmas is over I want spring to arrive! When I went shopping with Sofia the other day I saw that some of the shops had already put out their new collections, it really gives you that spring feeling when the pastels are brought out! Here's some high street fashion inspiration while we sit inside and long for warmer weather and flowering trees...

Topshop's line is a bit cooky, with both nautical, boho and cowboy influences.
A few images from H&M's s/s 2011 Lookbook
I've never been a Dr Martens-person, but these new low boots are adorable!
If you can disregard the model's ridiculous posing, the Primark collection looks promising!
I love New Look's spring style, so cute and fresh!

New Years Eve

Here are some pics from my New Year's Eve. We didn't wanna make a huge deal of it so we had a dinner party with a few friends. For 12 0' clock we went to a bridge in Highgate that has got a great view of London, and had champagne and watched the fireworks.
James and I are preparing the starter; salmon tartar...
and it was a huge success! Really delicious if I may say so myself!
Sofia was looking lovely.
Ben was there...
and his brother Jamie.
For dessert I used my mom's recipe, I love this one, it's like a frozen raspberry mousse.
James liked it!
And then of course some Singstar!
