Design Notebook: Kristian Schuller

Today I've found an amazing photographer to add to my list of favourites: Kristian Schuller. I love Kristian's photography style, I am a sucker for the dreamy fairytale-like settings with a slightly bizarre twist, the soft yet intense colours and flowing fabric textures.

Kristian Schuller is a Paris-based photographer who was born in Romania but grew up in Germany. He studied fashion design with Vivienne Westwood and photography with F C Gundlach in Berlin, not bad huh? I think his book will have to go on my xmas list!

Design Notebook: Lisa Bengtsson

If you have been reading my blog for a while you know that I really love, and work with, patterns. So in this Design Notebook I will present a very talented Swedish pattern designer called Lisa Bengtsson.

Lisa has been making waves in the Swedish design industry ever since graduating from design school Berghs. Her designs such as "Familjen", "Svärmor" and "Sir Harald", has become very popular and are sold as wallpaper, textiles and other home interior products.

Lisa also works with graphic design and illustration. I love her unique ideas and the humour in her work. Check out more of Lisa's work here.

Design Notebook: Jared Andrew Schorr

I came across an incredibly charming website recently, it's the portfolio of Jared Andrew Schorr, an illustrator from California. Jared's unique paper cut illustrations are humorous, detailed and brilliantly composed. Have a look at his website for more amazingness!

The navigation page of Jared's website is my favourite, I love the composition, colours, and especially, the groovy character "Pete".

Design Notebook: Julia Pott

I am very interested in animation and moving image, and my favourite animation of all time is "My First Crush" by Julia Pott, you just have to watch it! Julia is an English illustrator and animator. Her illustrations are also fantastic but this animation really moved me. The story, animation style and voice overs all come together to make a brilliant short film. Check out Julia's youtube channel for more of her work.

Elsa is a Swedish photographer, TV-presenter and fashionista. She writes one of my absolute favourite blogs right now, on Swedish Elle's website. Her blog always makes me feel happy, it's like a beautiful fairytale world filled with macaroons, cool friends, trips to Paris, and Elsa herself who always looks vintage-amazing (apparently she doesn't own one pair of trousers!). New Feature on A Piece of Lisa: Design Notebook

Design Notebook is a new weekly feature on A Piece of Lisa, in these posts I will write about designers, illustrators or any other kinds of artists that inspire me. I'm going to start off with Peggy Wolf, a very nice and talanted illustrator from Germany. She now lives and works in London, I met her at a designers market last year, she was really friendly and gave me and Josie some great advice about freelancing.
