Silk Scarf Vintage Photo Shoot

Yesterday was a fun and exciting day! I photographed this gorgeous gal Emma wearing my silk scarves, she looked amazing in them!

We styled some of the photos with a vintage feel, and went down to a small harbour close to where I live to shoot.

Fishtail

I have been wanting to try making a fishtail braid for ages, I always thought it was really complicated but it turned out being super easy! I learned how to do it from this tutorial.

Today I am preparing and organising everything for my table at the xmas market Craft Jam tomorrow, very excited!

Today I tried giving myself French manicure for the first time, it was well tricky! But after a lot of practising I finally managed to do it.

Lipstick and Vintage Perfume Bottles

Hello and Happy Friday! Today I'm trying out a new look, it started with me being too lazy to put makeup on, but then I made this updo and thought I'd match it with some lipstick (which I normally never wear) and voilà! A new look. I think I look quite different, but it's fun to try something new!

Here's another first (since I was 13); a crop top! I bought this one at Camden market yesterday, I like the print with the vintage perfume bottles. Will definitely wear it with high-waisted skirts or jeans though, my midriff-baring days are over!

Haircut With a Twist

Yesterday I got my hair cut and high-lighted, it felt so nice because it was ages since I last had my hair done. There was a small surprise though... I had booked an appointment at a place I had been to before, but this time I was gonna try a new stylist called Jessica. So yesterday I walked into the salon and was immediately greeted by Jessica... who is a man... in a skirt and glittery top. That was definitely a first! I mean it's obviously not the first time I meet a transvestite (I live in London after all!) but normally that occurs in a glitzy nightclub, not at the hairdressers in the middle of the day :) Anyway, Jessica turned out to be lovely and I'm really happy with the cut, I like the fringe! What do you guys think!

I also did a little detour to H&M and picked up this nautical striped top...

and flowery blouse. I love the loose model and colours!

DIY - Vintage Chic Headband

Hello lovelies! Here comes a brand new tutorial that I've created especially for you! You will learn how to make this elegant vintage-style headband, it's easier than it looks!

These are the materials you'll need: a plain elastic headband (this one is from H&M), some natural feathers (I ordered mine online from a craft shop), superglue, a decorative button and some nice ribbons.

After selecting 3-4 feathers, rip off the fluffy bottom bits and cut the feathers to make the "stem" shorter. Arrange them on the headband and glue them on one-by-one.

Take the ribbon and fold it into a bow-shape like this, glue between the layers so it stays like that. I also attached a little bit of a gold ribbon on the back of the bow, but of course you don't have to do this.

Now glue the ribbon on top of the feathers, hold it down for a while to make sure it's set.

After that it's time for the finishing touch - the button. I use the superglue to attach the button as well.

Tadaaah!

60's Style

Today my look is a little bit inspired by 60's updo's and makeup style. I'm wearing one of my favourite dresses, and very turqoise tights! I didn't manage to get a good full body shoot, but hopefully James can help me tonight, I'm on my way to meet him and his friends at a restaurant with belly-dancers, exciting!

Eye Shadow and Colour Theory

Today I felt about as grey as the sky outside so I decided to try my new eye shadow "Metal Plum" from L'Oreal. I really like it, it accentuates the eyes without being too dark, perfect for daytime!

Did you know that you can intensify the colour of your eyes with eye shadow?

Basically, all colours have got a complimentary colour, that is the colour right opposite of them in the "colour wheel chart" which means the colour furthest away in likeness. For example blue's complimentary colour is orange, purple - yellow, green - red etc. That means that if you put yellow next to purple, the purple will look clear and strong, as opposed to if you put blue next to it. Now, if I want to accentuate my blue eyes I'm not going to wear orange eyeshadow since it's not really my style, but I can wear something similar, like gold, pink or warm purple. Green eyes will look like emeralds with warm browns or dark pink, while brown eyes will look extra chocolaty together with blues or lilac.
