Product Shoot at the Lake House

This Monday I photographed all of my new products. I got to use the space in a beautiful house by a lake that belongs to my parent's friends. They have a lot of large windows so the light was fantastic, even in February in Sweden!
Here are a few of the shots:

DIY - Black & White Framed Noticeboard

Tired of your practical but oh-so-ugly bulletin board? Here's a very simple and fun way to give it a stylish make-over!

You need: a cheap noticeboard, a picture frame that is roughly the same size as the board, white paint and black spray paint.

So I got this classic notice board from a second hand store and removed the wooden frame, be careful not to damage the cork.

Then you must find a nice picture frame that is the same size or slightly smaller than the cork board. I got this one, but if you want your notice board to look more extravagant you could get a bigger frame with decorative patterns or something like that.

Measure the cork board and cut it with a scalpel to make sure it fits perfectly into the frame. 

Now it's time to paint the board and the frame, I chose to make mine black and white but of course you can use other colours! I think a pastel frame with a black board would also look really cute.
After everything is dry you just put the board into the frame and hammer in small nails to make sure it stays.

Tadaah! Now pin some inspirational stuff onto your board and enjoy its prettyness!

New Scarf Design - Sailor Bird

This is one of my new designs for silk scarves, it's a mix of my patterns "Sailor Bird" and "Pink Circus".

I received the scarves last week from the silk printers and they are fantastic! Can't wait to show you some photos, here is a close up of the illustration in the mean time :)

Lisa Edoff Design at Formex Spring 2014

So my first Formex show is done! It was four days (six including setting up) of intense work but I feel very excited about the contacts I made and the lovely response my products got. It feels good to have the first one under my belt, since it takes a few shows before you can really make an impact with a new brand.

I got my new silk scarves just in time for the show so I put this Black Magnolia one up on the wall, and the Pink Circus is hanging next to it.

My mum helped me restore this lovely little table, and she also framed a magnolia print that made a great prop at the stand.

The yellow magnolia cushions are new as well, I like bright colours for spring!


The Pink Circus cutting boards were well recived.



Here's a Wonderland scarf as well, can't wait to start selling them, they are exquisite in quality and print!

It's On!

Happy New 2014 everyone! I hope you had a lovely Christmas break and New Year's Eve!

I really did, but now I'm super excited about getting back into working with my design business. Next week I will exhibit at Sweden's biggest trade show for design products, it will be my Swedish product launch, so exciting! I will share a stand with my friend and design colleague Emma Sjödin, she has done it many times before so she has become my mentor, it's brilliant.

So this week I'm hitting the ground running with colour matching, product photography and the arrival of new business cards and product samples. Not to mention the most difficult task: pricing my products. A tiny bit stressful but so much fun!

Roadtrip to the West

Last weekend my mum and I went on a road trip down to Gothenburg in the South-West of Sweden, we exhibited at a design market there called A La London.

We drove down on Friday along a large lake called Vättern...

and visited my mum's friend in a beautiful seaside town called Skärhamn.

Then it was time for the market, here are my phone cases packed and organised and ready to go!

It was a lovely market, they had a really good dj and a creative corner.

Here is my crammed table, I could have done with a bigger table (or less products!).

The market itself was crammed with people! I don't think I've ever seen such a packed market event. It was great for sale of course so we were happy, but it was so intense!

After the market me and mum treated ourselves to a nice dinner at Spisa, a new restaurant in Haga, Göteborg. Highly recommended!

We had steak tartare, squid, artichoke and gnocchi, mmm!

Lilly's Poster

Last week I made my first children's illustration in Adobe Illustrator, this poster for our friends Tove and Jonas' daughter Lilly as a gift for her christening. I don't normally work with simple shapes and colours like this, but I think it's a sweet style for children so hopefully little Lilly will like it! :)
