On Thursday James and I tried something cooky - floatation tank treatment. It's like a relaxation body treatment where you go into this tank (that looks like a space ship) and float for an hour. The tank is filled with salt water, made to resemble the dead sea, and the water is exactly the same temperature as your skin so if you lie completely still you can't actually feel where the water surface ends.
In the beginning I messed up a little bit because I forgot to put the earplugs in and when I got in I realised I had shaved my legs that morning because they started to sting like hell! So I had to get out of the tub to get the earplugs and put some cream on my legs, but then they turned the lights out because I was supposed to be in the cocoon already :)
But after I sorted myself out I really enjoyed it and managed to relax straight away. It was really cool to experience the weightlessness you feel, because you don't notice the water it almost feels like you're floating in the air. I loved it in the beginning when they played relaxing music, but to be honest I was a little bored at the end... But it was definitely a cool and unusual experience!

This is the strangest thing I have ever heard of actually existing. BUT it sounds like it COULD be relaxing... if you don't shave that morning. Say, what did such an experience cost ya?
Ooh I don't think I would like that as I get very claustrophobic!
I've always wanted to try these out...maybe I should really do it...sounds and looks very relaxing!
This is the first I've heard of this spa treatment! It's something I don't mind trying once...
I've been wanting to do this for years, but I was always afraid it'd be a bit of a claustrophobic experience haha;)
@Ti:
It cost around £40. It was very relaxing, a lot of people fall asleep, James did! It wasn't that claustrophobic, the tank is bigger than it looks and you are in control of light and opening the lid from the inside.

Woah! I've never heard of this, but I'd love to try it out. I kind of doubt it's available in little old Utah County, though. :)
People fall asleep in there? I'd be scared I'd drown. Looks really interesting though.
that sounds so awesome!! i wish i could find a place like that here in chicago, i need a place to relax for like, an hour.
Sounds heavenly! I love, love, love being in the water. I gotta see if we have any here in Utah! ;)
This is awesome! I've never heard of it before - although I think I'd rather go for a massage treatment or something for the money, since I would probably also get bored after about 10 minutes ha!
