Wedding Inspiration

Since James proposed I've enjoyed looking at wedding blogs and websites for inspiration. I could never have imagined just how much wedding stuff there is out there! Sometimes it feels like some companies just want to squeeze as much money out of you as possible, but what I really enjoy are the wedding blogs that show pictures from real weddings, there are so many beautiful images and ideas to get inspired by!

Here are a few favourites from my "Wedding Inspiration" board on Pinterest.

I Found Myself on Pinterest!

When checking if my blog's name comes up on Google I stumbled upon this Pinterest-pin of my "Ice Cream Blossom" pattern, that made me so happy! Just the fact that someone liked my design so much they pinned it, man that's cool!

So I thought I'd check if there were anymore pins from A Piece of Lisa... turns out there's loads! I'm so excited right now, finding yourself on Pinterest is such an ego boost!

If anyone that has pinned something from here reads this, thanks ever so much! It really made my day!

Bruschetta, BBQ and Baby Rachel

Happy 4th of July to all of you American sweethearts! :) Here in England it's obviously like any other day so I'm gonna show you what I did yesterday instead.
We were invited to lunch at James' brother Carl and his wife Victoria's house. They treated us to an amazing three-course meal. Here's the yummy bruschetta starter.
We hung out in their cute little patio garden...
Carl, the king of barbeque, was wearing a very naughty apron!
Victoria...
and their cutie pie daughter Rachel. We love cuddling with her!
When we were there, Rachel managed to roll over from laying on her back to her stomach for the first time, it was so cute to see how excited Carl and Vicky were!

Blueberry Cheesecake Muffins Recipe

Here comes the recipe for the blueberry cheesecake muffins I made for Midsummer's. They are very easy to make and totally delish! This recipe makes around 16 muffins.

Ingredients
  • 150g digestive biscuits
  • 75g butter
  • 400g philadelphia cheese
  • 1/2 dl sugar [1/4 cup]
  • 1/2 dl corn flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar [or a few drops vanilla extract]
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 dl whipping cream
  • 100g white chocolate of a good quality
  • blueberries

1. Put the oven on 175

°C

[347°F]

2. Melt the butter and crush the biscuits thoroughly. Mix them together in a bowl. Press a little into the bottom of each muffin form and bake for 5 minutes.

3. Beat the cream cheese until soft, add sugar, corn flour and vanilla extract/sugar.

4. While still beating, add the eggs one by one and lastly the cream.

5. Melt the chocolate and stir into the filling.

6. Fill the muffin forms with the filling and sprinkle some blueberries on top of each one.

7. Bake for about 25 minutes. Turn the oven off but leave the muffins in there for 30 minutes more.

Enjoy!

Design Notebook: Jared Andrew Schorr

I came across an incredibly charming website recently, it's the portfolio of Jared Andrew Schorr, an illustrator from California. Jared's unique paper cut illustrations are humorous, detailed and brilliantly composed. Have a look at his website for more amazingness!
The navigation page of Jared's website is my favourite, I love the composition, colours, and especially, the groovy character "Pete".

New Shoes and Summer Hues

These are my new summer shoes, aren't they cute? I bought them when I was in Sweden, the brand is called Vagabond. I must say I think shoe shops are much better in Sweden than here in England, the shoes are always so extreme here, sky-high stilettos ain't my thing!

On another shoe related note: I was approached on the bus yesterdat by an old man who admired my "Romanesque shoes" (gladiator sandals from last year) and asked if they didn't cost me a fortune? He looked really shocked when I said they are actually in fashion and you can find them anywhere for quite cheap... How sweet!
