I wish you a lovely Christmas and lots of good things for next year!
Lots of love,
Last weekend my mum and I went on a road trip down to Gothenburg in the South-West of Sweden, we exhibited at a design market there called A La London.
We drove down on Friday along a large lake called Vättern...
and visited my mum's friend in a beautiful seaside town called Skärhamn.
Then it was time for the market, here are my phone cases packed and organised and ready to go!
It was a lovely market, they had a really good dj and a creative corner.
Here is my crammed table, I could have done with a bigger table (or less products!).
The market itself was crammed with people! I don't think I've ever seen such a packed market event. It was great for sale of course so we were happy, but it was so intense!
After the market me and mum treated ourselves to a nice dinner at Spisa, a new restaurant in Haga, Göteborg. Highly recommended!
We had steak tartare, squid, artichoke and gnocchi, mmm!
Last week I made my first children's illustration in Adobe Illustrator, this poster for our friends Tove and Jonas' daughter Lilly as a gift for her christening. I don't normally work with simple shapes and colours like this, but I think it's a sweet style for children so hopefully little Lilly will like it! :)
Last and this week have been busy and awesome! Yesterday I put on my red coat, packed my bag full of phone cases and notebooks and delivered them to my first retailer in Sweden! Such a great feeling!
But let's back up a little bit...
It started with a very nice and inspirational meeting with Kristina, she's the artist behind scarf and illustration brand Emma Kisstina. I found her randomly on instagram and saw that she makes amazing silk scarves, this is something I would like to do as well (I made these scarves as a test before and loved them) so I emailed her and the we met up for a coffee in Stockholm.
It was so fun to meet somebody that is in the same field and even has a similar illustration style! We exchanged tips and experiences and had a lot to talk about.
Then after our meeting we went to a couple of design/vintage shops in an area called Midsommarkransen, we decided to check out this one called Vintagefabriken, I had been to a lecture held by one of the owners the day before, a talanted vintage blogger called Emma Sundh.
So I started talking to Emma to compliment her on the lecture, she was really lovely and one thing led to another and all of a sudden she was browsing my website and placed an order for phone cases and notebooks to sell in their cute shop, hooray!
Emma and her colleague Louise were also really interested in silk scarves so Kristina and I are going to try and order some soon!
Yesterday I created this package design for the cases and had a little help from my mum to assemble the whole range, don't they look cute? :)
So now you can purchase my products in Vintagefabriken, the first physical shop in Sweden to stock Lisa Edoff Design!
A couple of weeks ago my parents, James and I went to a food festival called Taste of Stockholm, it was a fabulous day! It's an event were really good restaurants and food producers can show their products and you can buy small versions of the restaurants' famous dishes. We had been to Taste of London before so when me and my mum won tickets to this one in a competition we naturally had to check it out!
The festival was at Riddarholmen in Stockholm, it's beautiful there and the weather was perfect.
This was one of the courses I tried from a restaurant called Sjömagasinet, lobster salad with pistachio, mmmm!
We met lots of Swedish celebrity chefs, my mum who follows all the programs on tv was in heaven! One of them was Jonas Lundgren, he was really nice and the food from his restaurant was superb, here's his lamb and smoked salmon dishes.
Mum even signed up to participate in a cooking class...
Led by her favourite chef Jonas!
She rocked it!
There was also some lovely food products in the market area, even though we thought it could have been a bit bigger with more stalls. I guess it will expand since this was the festival's first year.
Before we went home we got some rosé champagne at a bargain price (there was nobody at this stall so they put down the prices a lot), a perfect way to end a really fun day!
