Today you can either celebrate 'Pancake Day' in the UK, or 'Fettisdagen' (Fat Tuesday) in Sweden. I might be biased because I'm Swedish but I will definitely diss the pancakes for semla! I like pancakes but semlor is so much better! And home made semla is the best. Here is my best recipe.

We've decided to do semlor today and pancakes tomorrow. Having to rule out one of the two very good traditions seems unfair. So I say do both! :)

ReplyDeletei have never had a fettisdagen but i am a huge fan of pancakes and that picture is seriously calling my name! but the fettisdagen is also saying, "cristie, come eat me!" is it filled with a custard? or something similar? it looks heavenly! happy fat tuesday!

a piece of semla!!! (pun intended!) yah, i actually wouldn't turn away from either of those d-vine treats right now. so hungry! why is it that when we eat a big dinner right before bed, we wake up ravenous? yipes, well....these photos are sure making my mouth water. no savory breaky for me, it's right to a berry topped something or other ; )
