Photoshop Tutorial: Sharpen Your Photos

In this tutorial I will show you an easy but very effective way to sharpen your photos. This technique is really useful, with a few easy steps you can "save" and improve those great shots that just came out a little bit unsharp.

Ok, let's start.
After you have adjusted your levels (learn how to do that here), go to your Layers panel. Make a copy of the Background layer by dragging it to the 'Create a new layer' symbol, next to the trash bin.

Click on the new layer and then click where it says Normal. Change this to Soft Light.

Now go to the Filter menu, down to Other, then click on High Pass.

Here you can adjust and preview the High Pass filter. You can play around and try a few different numbers here, but I personally find that somewhere around 10 pixels works best.

Go to Layer/Flatten Image, and you're done!

Below are a few more examples of before/after sharpening.

Peacocks, Leaves and Figs

Today I'm starting to work on a new autumn-inspired design. My inspiration is coming from the intense, warm and contrasting colours of autumn, nature is so beautiful this time of year!
My pattern will include some of these elements...

8 Wedding Dresses I Love

Trying on wedding dresses in Sweden was so much fun, I just want to go to more shops and do it again! Now I kind of know what I'm looking for, it was really good to try on lots of different dresses to figure out which style suits me. Here are a few dresses that I love and am inspired by.
Dress designed by Eglantine Créations. So unique! Cool and pretty at the same time!
Swedish blogger/writer/photographer Underbara Clara's wedding dress, designed by her sister.
My gorgeous blog buddy Cristie on her wedding day. Her dress was vintage from the 60's, so beautiful!

I Tried On Wedding Dresses Today!

Hello everyone!

I'm in Sweden again (I know, I'm such a jetsetter! :) and today I have done something really fun... I went with my mum to a bridal shop and tried on loads of wedding dresses! We found two really good ones, and especially the last one felt like a dream. It was magical when the shop assistant let the train down and it just "whoosched" down like a waterfall.

But we're gonna look at some more dresses before I decide, it's a whole year until I'm getting married after all, so I want to check out the 2012 collection too.

Naturally I can't show you any pics but here are some beautiful photos of an amazing wedding dress boutique by Alix of Cherry Blossom Girl - one of my favourite blogs!
