Alfred Nobel's Dynamite Factory, Renovated Castles and Ocean Views - Four More Venues

Now we have looked at seven venues! After visiting all of these our heads were spinning! So much to think about, and all of the venues had their own charm, and pro's and con's of course.

So here are venues four, five, six and seven. Which out of all of them do you think we should pick?

This is Ekensdal, a really nice place South-East of Stockholm city.

The guests can arrive by boat!
The dining room was like a white canvas, then you decorate it with flowers according to your theme.
The ceremony can be held under this lovely tree (if the weather is nice). I really liked this place, the only problem was the dancing room that we felt was a bit small for our amount of guests. But the owner/head chef that showed us around seemed great!
The next venue was this amazing space called Winterviken, this used to be Alfred Nobel's dynamite factory! It was so cool, but probably a bit too big for us.
At Winterviken they also had a café where I enjoyed a very pretty cappuccino...

Next we went to Stallmästaregården, they had a nice terrace for the ceremony, with a roof which is good if it's raining!
Stallmästaregården is beautifully situated by the water, although shame about the building work on the other side!
The inside was very grandiose...
I could be rolled in on this horse when I enter the dining room for dinner :)
The view from the back.

Lastly, Vidbynäs Slott, a renovated castle South of Stockholm.

You can have the ceremony here...
and drinks on this nice terrace.
The dining room's interior is modern.
Even though we had a packed schedule, we really enjoyed looking at all the venues!

Wedding Venue Two and Three

The next venue we looked at was Skeviks Gård, a typical Swedish mansion house East of Stockholm.
You can rent this little cabin as your honey moon suite!
It was situated beautifully by the water, where you could also have the wedding ceremony.
They also had a very nice sauna!
In between viewings I managed to squeeze in a haircut at my favourite hairdresser's.

Then we went to see Säby Säteri, a very beautiful place with lovely surroundings.
The dining room.
You can have the ceremony under this old oak...
and the guests can stay in hotelrooms like this one.
James deep in thought, which one to pick?

To be continued... :)

The First Wedding Venue and a Few Cosmos

Hello everyone and a special welcome to the lovely new readers who wandered over from FTLOB! I was so happy and excited to be featured!
So, as you know James and I are in Sweden right now. The first wedding venue we went to look at was in the South part of Stockholm, it's called Van der Nootska Palatset (Van der Nootska Palace). It's from the 17th century and was built by a Dutch lord called Thomas Van der Noot.

After the tour we had lunch in "Söder", my favourite part of Stockholm.

Then my dear friends Ricardo and Jocke showed up and joined us...
for some rosé in the afternoon sun.

In the evening we were invited for dinner at Ulrica and Jimmy's flat, they had made a yummy pie with Swedish cheese and mushrooms. My awesome friend Ulrica is a doctor who used to be a bartender (how cool is that?) so she whipped up some cosmos that we enjoyed on their lovely balcony.

And that was our first adventure here in Sweden!

And Now We're Off To Sweden!

After only a week back home we're jetting off again, this time to Sweden. We are going to look at wedding venues to see where we want to get married next year, eeek! We are also going to Peter's birthday party and a crayfish party so it'll be lots of fun and excitement!

I have a question, would you guys be interested in hearing about wedding planning stuff? For example, would you like to see photos from the different venues we look at? Be honest now! :) If you are, I'll see if I'm allowed to take some pics, otherwise I'll just post about the parties!

Wine Tasting, Old Town and Peter's Birthday - France Final

On Tuesday James, my parents and I went wine tasting at this beautiful winery.
This region of France is famous for producing and selling lots of good rosé wines. But of course they also produce white and red, we tried them all!

We bought a few different types of wine, my favourite was the rosé.

Then we had a lovely lunch in a nearby village. I had salad with chevre chaud, mmm!
James drank a lemonade with a funny name.
After lunch we looked at some sculptures outside another winery.
Then we walked around in the medieval part of the town. Can you spot my mum in this picture?

On Wednesday evening it was time to celebrate my brother's birthday!
We went to a really nice restaurant with delicious food and a splendid view.
We had some champagne of course.

Peter got a nice camera from James and me. I was really pleased because I thought of the camera long before he actually told me he wanted one, so he didn't expect it at all!

Peter got a special dessert with a sparkling cracker in it, but the waiter was really clumsy and managed to knock it over so it "sparkled" right onto Peter's shirt!
But luckily nothing caught on fire, so all in all it was a fabulous night!
