Sketch

Tonight I went to a restaurant/club called Sketch to check out an animated installation made by a company called Silent Studios. I'm probably gonna work with them in September so it was great to meet the creative director Nathan and to see some of their work. The animations were projected all over the walls in the restaurant, very cool! (the pictures don't really do them justice).

A funny thing about Sketch are the toilets! They are possible the weirdest toilets ever. Or the coolest, that depends on how you see it!

The stairs leading up to the toilets... they are actually in the 'eggs!'
James is lost in the egg-forest!
To make it even more surreal they play bird twitter in the cocoons while you pee, and an old-fashioned maid looks after them.
There's also an egg-bar!

Little London Fields Festival

Yesterday I met up with Josefine at the V&A Museum, we were going to have a look at the winners of the V&A illustration awards. Unfortunately it was a bit crap, but we enjoyed the back "garden" of the museum were we had ice cream and climbed in this tree sculpture, I felt like a kid again!
Beautiful hortensia en masse!

Then we went to Hackney to check out a free festival called Little London Fields Festival. We were pleasantly surprised when we realised it was right opposite of the lovely Broadway market.
The market had lots of food stalls, plus hand made jewellery, soaps and other things. This was like a coffee machine motorcycle (or something) were you could buy an espresso! So cute!
We had paella, and then churros for dessert (with thick chocolate sauce dip). It was so good I can't even describe it!

Josie checking out some nice prints...
and bags...
and knitted ice cream cones!
This girl sold hand made brooches and hair accessories. I love the way she looks! She looks like a different species...
For £3 you could paint a gnome if you wanted to... we gave it a skip!
We listened to up-and-coming bands, some were actually good!
Josefine's friend Kayleigh came along.
it was more relaxed than most festivals, a lot of people brought their kids. These must be the cutest twin babies ever! So adorable!

What a fun day!

Fashion Designers as Disney Characters!

These are so cool! The Disney Fashion Designers were published by spanish Elle, all of them drawn by Ulrich Schröder.
Which one is your favourite? Mine is Karl Lagerfeld but I also love the audience in the John Galliano one!

Octopus Trouble

Today I was back at Nude (the design firm I'm currently working for). It was fun to be back. I spent most of my day searching for images on fashion blogs, nice!

I got the funniest e-mail from my mother today, it is about her struggle to cook home made octopus. Apologies to everyone who doesn't speak Swedish!

"Idag skulle vi för första gången äta egenlagad bläckfisk. Stod ca 1 tim i går och rensade asen (små), marinerade dem ett dygn, grillade idag, smakade för djävligt."

Have you ever tried to make octopus at home?

In My Future Home…

I want this style! So quirky and cool but at the same time fresh and light. The first picture is an ad for Habitat, the other one I don't know where it came from, found it at work.

PS. Toy Story 3 was great! Really, really enjoyed it. James even shed a tear, which I thought was a bit exaggerated, here I thought I was the emotional one out of us two!

Chicken and Living Toys!

I'm waiting for james to come home so we can go to Nando's, and then we're gonna see Toy Story 3 in 3D. I loved the first two movies, and hopefully this one will be even better since it's in 3D. I haven't seen an animated film in 3D before, just the trailer for that Meatball one, can't remember what it was called exactly, but it's about raining meatballs and other food. I saw the trailer before Avatar, it felt like the meatballs were coming right at me! I think I was the only person in the cinema that had put on my glasses since I was the only one who screamed… or maybe I was just the only one who gets scared of meatballs :)
