Practising With My Camera

Hello and hope you're having a great Friday!
Today I have been practising taking photos with my dslr. It's quite tricky with all the millions of settings but I'm taking baby steps! I walked around where I live, here are the best snaps...

And one where I'm playing around with shadows in my room... kind of looks like I'm saying; "No photos!"

Sheep on a Bicycle!

I'm very interested in children's book illustration. It is definitely something I will pursue in the future. I have an idea about what the illustrations might look like, here's a test painting I did of this sheep character riding her bike. What do you think?

Cosy Evening With the Basterds

I never ended up practising with my camera, but decided to relax instead. James and I enjoyed healthy snacks and wine while we watched "Inglorious Basterds" which was brilliant! I didn't think I would like it so much because I think sometimes Quentin Tarantino's movies are a bit overly violent, but this was a really tense, thrilling and humorous movie with a great cast!
Now I'm going to bed, see you tomorrow!

I Ate a Cloud and I Liked It!

Mmm, so full!
James and I were both off today so we went to Hampstead for lunch. We love dim sum so we went to brilliant Ping Pong, and we ate so much! My favourite one was the char sui bun(top picture), it's like eating a cloud!

Now I think I need to take an afternoon nap, I've been working hard lately so I deserve it!:)
Later today I'm gonna teach myself how to take better pictures with my dslr camera, so I might show you some cool photos later!

Regretsy - Where DIY meets WTF

I just had to tell you about this hilarious website. For all of you Etsy fans, you have to check this out! If you aren't familiar with Etsy, it's an online marketplace where people sell only hand-made or vintage(second hand) items, it could be anything from paintings to hats to knitted brooches. You can find really lovely things, but there are also some utterly crazy sh*t! Which you can look and laugh at on Regretsy! ;)

Mail on Monday

After a horrible rainy weekend the sun has finally showed its face here in London, yay! And I got these fabrics in the mail, aren't they lovely? They are for an upcoming craft project that I will show you soon! I got the fabric scraps for £3 from this website: www.vintagefabricmarket.co.uk
I can really recommend it, they have lots of nice vintage fabrics among other things, and they don't charge you anything for postage! (within the UK)
Hope you're having a nice monday!

Senza Mama

Here's an illustration I did in college. It is based on Puccini's opera number "Senza Mama" from Suor Angelica.

Some Pretty Things I Got Last Weekend

I wanted to show you some cute stuff I bought last weekend when I went shopping with my mum.

These cool retro coasters for my living room...
This adorable tweezer...
These posh napkins...

And a lovely scented candle (although this one was so expensive my mum got it for me, isn't she nice?)

Garfield!

Today I had to draw this cartoon for a job application. It is not something I would usually do, but it turned out quite cute!

Graffiti in the City

In a large tunnel near Waterloo station there is an explosion of amazing graffiti. I'm not talking about your average train station vandalism but proper street art. When Josie did a course in Street Fashion Photography she asked me to model (I'm using the term 'model' very loosely:) in the tunnel, and I also photographed her. It was a really fun project!
